Welcome back to a bit of a different episode of Below the Rim. We gave the rest of the guys the week off, and your host got to jump up on his soap box and give a solo podcast the good 'ole college try.
Jacob explores his top five "prospects" that are showing they have a bright future in the league. He also shares his "hand-up I was wrong" moment, giving kudos to Russell Westbrook and pleading with the Warriors to get their act together.
Hope you all enjoy, and check back next week for the regular scheduled programming.
Welcome back loyal listeners, fellow NBA enthusiasts and first timers to the Below the Rim Podcast. We'll be the first to admit, we're equally shocked that we've made it into 2025. Today's episode is a first for the Below the Rim crew, as we broaden our pool of contributors and bring on sixth man Connor Freeman!
With Connor onboard, we'll do some rapid reactions to the marquee Cavs win over the Thunder on Tuesday, January 9th. We also jump into the messy middle of the Eastern Conference, and have each member of the starting five take a stab at predicting the finishing order for the 6 teams (Pacers, Hawks, Bulls, Heat, 76ers, Pistons) vying for 5 play-off + playing spots. We do a deeper dive on the pros and cons of each of these teams, and make our case for why we believe or don't believe.
We then shift gears and give some flowers to guys that we wish we got more of. Introducing the Below the Rim all-time "what-if" team, and some great reflections on formative basketball memories.
As always, thanks for listening!
Knock off that holiday rust and jump back into the never ending, always dramatic action of the NBA with the starting five from Below the Rim.
On this weeks episode, the guys get you caught up on the action over the past couple of weeks that you might have missed with the uptick in family time. We explore:
The Kings struggles and firing of Mike Brown
Christmas Day Action, highlighting Wemby, Mikal, Lebron, Steph and the 76ers
Luka's Injury
The Nuggets continued defensive and bench struggles
We share our reflections from the past year, as well as talk about some resolutions/changes we hope to see in 2025.
Last, we evaluate how we feel about NBA superstars today by using our hard owned dollars to come up with a price of admission rankings.
As always, thanks for listening!
Welcome back to another episode of the Below the Rim Podcast. This week, the starting five got together to debrief on all things NBA cup, including a draft of our own starting five from the semi-final candidates.
Jacob got on his soap box and did a deep dive in how different western conference teams demonstrate that success goes beyond talent, and the importance of organizational vision from top to bottom.
Last, the crew chats our NBA (and broader) Christmas wishes. We explore trades, trends, and music(?). Happy holidays to all
