Hello all and welcome back to another 2-man pick & pop version of the Below the Rim Podcast. On this episode, Jacob is joined by long-time friend, first time 2-man participant Michael Malvin. The duo tries to get a handle of the different types of talent in the NBA today by building out some different starting fives: All-NBA, All Defense, 10 min MPG or less, and US born. After, Jacob shares some of his more out there takes after watching Netflix's Court of Gold, including the path to a true global game. As always, thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!
What's going on all, and welcome back to another episode of the Below the Rim Podcast. This week, Ian and Jacob got back together to run another two-man Pick & Pop* (who rolls to the rim anymore) and catch up on all the ongoings in the NBA. They do a quick debrief on some of the continued Lakers/Mavs trade-fall out, before jumping into two main topics for the week.
The guys explore some of the recent ongoings in the association by going through blind resumes, seeing if recent performance means anything different when you take away the team from the wins, losses, and statistical outputs.
They next do full run through of their way to early All-NBA picks, and what the team structures might say about how we feel about certain players in today's game. And yes, Jacob of course includes Cade Cunningham.
As always, we appreciate the love! Feel free to drop a comment or a follow, and we're excited to continue to talk basketball from Below the Rim.
Let's all take a deep breathe and gather our thoughts after the most hectic NBA trade deadline (really, week) in recent memory. Ian and Jacob got together to give their quick thoughts of some winners and losers. They pick a winner and loser across a couple of different categories: Team, Player, and Narrative. The guys also explore some big pictures implications and what they're excited about for the rest of the year.
As always, thanks for listening!
Welcome back BTR fam. No surprises here - the group got together to try and wrap our heads around the blockbuster Luka & AD foundation shaking NBA trade. We do our best to be objective and explore it from all angles, and try and piece together the motivations for this seismic shift in the NBA.
We also go through late breaking news, exploring the implications of the 3-team Spurs/Kings/Bulls deal that lands De'Aaron Fox on the Spurs as a Wemby running partner.
This one is all about the drama, and boy are we here for it.
Hello Below the Rim Family! On today's episode, we got back to our regularly scheduled programming with 4/5 members of the starting five.

Welcome back to a bit of a different episode of Below the Rim. We gave the rest of the guys the week off, and your host got to jump up on his soap box and give a solo podcast the good 'ole college try.
Jacob explores his top five "prospects" that are showing they have a bright future in the league. He also shares his "hand-up I was wrong" moment, giving kudos to Russell Westbrook and pleading with the Warriors to get their act together.
Hope you all enjoy, and check back next week for the regular scheduled programming.
Welcome back loyal listeners, fellow NBA enthusiasts and first timers to the Below the Rim Podcast. We'll be the first to admit, we're equally shocked that we've made it into 2025. Today's episode is a first for the Below the Rim crew, as we broaden our pool of contributors and bring on sixth man Connor Freeman!
With Connor onboard, we'll do some rapid reactions to the marquee Cavs win over the Thunder on Tuesday, January 9th. We also jump into the messy middle of the Eastern Conference, and have each member of the starting five take a stab at predicting the finishing order for the 6 teams (Pacers, Hawks, Bulls, Heat, 76ers, Pistons) vying for 5 play-off + playing spots. We do a deeper dive on the pros and cons of each of these teams, and make our case for why we believe or don't believe.
We then shift gears and give some flowers to guys that we wish we got more of. Introducing the Below the Rim all-time "what-if" team, and some great reflections on formative basketball memories.
As always, thanks for listening!
